QUARANTINE (REDO)

Quarantine wasn’t my favorite movie (I much preferred the original REC, which I just learned is now out on DVD). In fact when my boyfriend brought home the movie, I just kind of rolled my eyes and told him that he wouldn’t like it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I actually kind of liked it this time around. It’s by no means a great movie and I still dislike the lead actress. Her character was so annoying that I wanted her to die long before the movie was over. Still it was a little better than I originally thought.

    I, too, prefer the original [REC], but I found the explanation for the outbreak to be much more believable in the remake. However, the last five minutes of [REC] were TERRIFYING! I had trouble walking in the dark house the night I saw it. Quarantine failed to capture that feeling.

    I have to agree with that. The original definitely left me with that old-fashioned chills kind of feeling as opposed to the remake.
