SILK

Published by horror_queen at 10:42 pm under Asian Horror, Ghosts Edit This

Trapping a ghost isn’t as easy as it looks.

PLOT

Silk starts out with a creepy couple hiring an Canadian man to do ghostly research and take spirit photography at an apartment building. The next day they arrive to find him dead and one ghost picture in the room. That fills them with glee in an odd way. The couple lead a group of researchers back into the building where they manage to capture a ghost. They’re hoping to find a way to defy gravity and bring in another man by the name of Tung to help with their mission. Tung starts to figure things out, but he’s caught up in his own life and his own problems.

TRIVIA

The Menger Cube discussed in the movie has its basis in real life scientific fact.

THOUGHTS

Silk was a little slow moving and a little slow to get to the point. I was getting antsy through a good portion of the movie just because I wanted something to happen. I also didn’t find this one as creepy or off-putting as I thought I would, given my love of foreign horror movies, particularly Asian ones. It felt like the movie was just kind of plodding along and hoping that you followed it. Unfortunately I thought it was a little confusing and some of the scenes felt familiar, like I’ve seen them before. At the same time though, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one gets an American remake soon.

Thank you for saving me. I was thinking about renting this but I hate slow moving movies.
