AFTER DARK HORROR FEST: CRAZY EIGHTS

Time has a way of tearing people apart and bringing them back together…
THE PLOT
Six childhood friends haven’t seen each other in years, but they all come together when one of their group dies. After the funeral they find a treasure map that leads them to a secret location where they find the long forgotten body of a little girl. The deeper they follow the map, the more their minds start to remember the past. A past that’s best left forgotten.
FUN TRIVIA
Dina Meyer knows a little bit about the world of horror and sci-fi with roles in the Saw franchise as well as a starring role in Starship Troopers.
THOUGHTS/OPINIONS
I know that a lot of people really hated this movie and it was one of the worst reviewed films from the After Dark fest, but it wasn’t that bad. The cast has some nice additions such as Traci Lords playing the outspoken, sexual friend and Dina Meyer as the reluctant leader of the group. George Newburn also pulls off a good performance, especially when he starts to remember the past.
This movie doesn’t have a lot of chills and thrills, but it does have a good story that kept me entertained. The ending isn’t the best thing ever created and it gets a little predictable around the middle, but I can think of worse ways to waste a couple of hours.
